SIG Leads ALPR Technology Demonstration at Integrian IACP Booth
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (October 2007) - Signal Innovations Group, Inc. (SIG) debuts next generation Automatic License Plate Reading (ALPR) technology demonstration at International Chiefs of Police (IACP) show in New Orleans. Featured in the Integrian booth with its other advanced law enforcement video systems, the ALPR technology demonstration incorporated a new SIG proprietary algorithm design for plate identification and character segmentation. “Our ALPR algorithm leverages years of DOD research in the field of Automatic Target Recognition (ATR)” said SIG Director of Engineering, Dr. Matt welborn. “This new approach will allow us to achieve a number of breakthroughs in performance and cost when the product solution is fully developed next year.” The demonstration included real-time live plate reading with random plates from all 50 states in the U.S.
