SIG Awarded $746K Phase II SBIR Contract to the Air Force Research Laboratory

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (May, 2006) - Signal Innovations Group, Inc. (SIG) has been selected to develop techniques to improve the accuracy and performance of radar combat ID systems. The computational speed of these systems will be improved by creating simpler models of identifiable features, and by prioritizing where computational efforts should be directed. The development of this technology will be of use in the analysis of airborne and satellite images, and have possible applications in medical imaging systems such as MRI technology. These imaging systems are capable of generating large volumes of high-contrast three-dimensional MRI slices which can allow non-destructive assessment of tissue change over time, and play a key role in drug discovery, toxicology studies, and anatomic phenotyping. The award is for a period of performance of 27 months with an approximate cumulative value of $746,000.
